Retired Justice of the Peace David Barrett will consult with you to help your wedding turn out wonderfully memorable.
Hello everyone.
Many of my clients seeking services of a Justice of the Peace also are at a time in their lives when legal counsel is needed for everything from review and negotiation of wedding event contracts, to the purchase of a new home, to the preparation of a new last will and testament.
My wife and I met David when we were looking for a Justice
of the Peace, and we found him to be accommodating,
professional and very caring.
Then when we needed an attorney for the purchase of our
new home, we already knew David, and we enjoyed working
together with him again. David was a great attorney for
us, and he worked hard to make sure our interests were
protected.
Spending time getting to know David while working on
our wedding made us feel comfortable hiring him as our
family attorney. By being so helpful with our wedding,
we felt that he was a person we could trust.

After the wedding, we felt it was time to have wills and health care proxies prepared for each of us.
We contacted David about the New Family Estate Planning package available from his law office, and he sent our estate planning questionnaire and fee agreement to us over email. The process couldn’t have been easier as David came to our home for three meetings, to interview us and explain the documents to us, and for the document signing ceremony.
We introduced married friends of ours to David, and David’s office got their estate planning documents together so promptly that we were able to be each others witnesses!
Great service! Thank you!

Many of my clients seek the services of a Justice of the peace not for a large wedding ceremony, but for a small one.
I’m very happy to do as little or as much ceremony for your wedding as you prefer, and I am available to meet privately for your legal marriage.
Some couples prefer to have only traditional vows, some prefer only vows and a brief poem, and some couples like an entire ceremony with a ring exchange. I officiate at events with only the bride and groom, and sometimes with only the bride, groom, and a photographer.
All that is legally required is that:
1. you both understand that you are engaging in a wedding,
2. you both freely agree, and
3. that your officiant declares by which authority he/she pronounces you wed.
I look forward to working with you.
